Second Too Last Day

Well after Friday it will officially be summer for me,, found out I passed this semester with flying colors (never understood what that meant),, on another note can't wait too go home and sleep all the way until Friday morning :)

Today was slow. I can't believe how hot it is getting out side, time to get out of town! Good news though, less then two weeks of school, including finals, remaining.

I came in at 12:30 to work for Dorothy today, so the day was a bit longer than usual. Had the pleasure to view a frequent center guest’s campaign DVD, hilarious. Blanche knows who I am talking about, he is the one who interacts with the Wii. Anyways, the DVD is on the front desk so if you are bored and in search of entertainment there is your ticket.

So it was a pretty slow day overall. I was able to get some homework done thanks to the lull. If anyone is interested in working next Saturday I would appreciate it since I will be out of town.

So it's like back to being 80 degrees and miserable in here. NO ONE TOUCH THE THERMOSTAT because some dumbo touched it and broke it..way to go. I'm surprised it wasn't me for once. Anyway, I just have one more class and my weekend begins...yay!!! :)

I don't usually work Friday but Blanche was nice enough to trade hours with me so I could go to a baseball game on Saturday, thanks Blanche. In other news I was able to experience for the first time in awhile the inherently worthless and usually chatty security guard. This fellow was quieter then most but I believe he would been inept at protecting me against an intruder, just saying.

Finally

I actually had people show up today! The attendance thing wasn't working though. It kept saying An error has occurred in the USI Event Management Tool. Please contact your administrator. I didn't know what to do about the problem so I just let the 4 individuals through. I hope that was okay. Also, they checked out the billards, so I had my first check out, and I was proud of myself because I remembered where the billards was located and which key to use :)

Last day of March

Today was relatively slow. I was able to do some reading and enjoy an overall very pleasant day as far as temperature is concerned.

Today I thought I was in a sauna, it was approximately 180 degrees in the center. That might be a slight exaggeration but you get the point. It was so hot that just being on the computer was enough to cause perspiration. I was relegated to sipping a cold cup of water praying for air conditioning. If it is this hot in March I am real excited to see what the coming months will feel like.

Can't wait til April too come and go soo that I can be done with school. However, I did get REALLY lucky with finals, I only have 1. YAY ME!

Today was a relatively slow day. Not many people came in and those that did wanted to use the ATM, as usual. I spent the majority of the seven hours doing my homework. Not the most exciting day but productive none the less.

March 24th

Today was the warmest day this month,it was almost to hot for me. I went and helped Ron move some boxes and Taylor Place and was able to also get some homework done. Overall it was a productive shift.

Please keep the front desk clean - other people should not have to work in the crumbs you left from your lunch - ewwww.

The back area by the TVs is getting messy - we do have more traffic in ther Center, please take a moment in your shift to throw stuff away.

I have found the filing cabinet with our goods in it and the front desk to be unlocked on numerous occasions - this is unacceptable, we cannot afford to have these items stolen. Please be more careful while working your shift.

Movie Monday

So Rebecca had her movie night tonight which had the best turnout so far. hahahah I always enjoy Mean Girls because it's so ridiculous! lol :) I had a pretty good day because my english class was cancelled but then again it also sucked because I kept spilling my drink while walk to work. Little bit slow today, the only guy who came in was the one who likes to "interact" with the Wii, whatever that means. I was tempted to ask him what that means but decided I didn't want to know. I guess it is just an odd way of saying he wants to play the Wii. It got me thinking though, what other socially inaprropriate ways can one use "interact"?

Some Examples:

1) I would like to interact with that piece of pizza
2) I can't wait to go home so I can interact with my cat
3) I love interacting with the soap in the shower.............why does this sound so bad?

These are all very inappropriate usages if you read them the wrong way, amusing though.

Today was an exception to the rule. The rule being that the student center is empty on weekends. I am sure the fact that today was the super bowl and their was enough food to feed everyone at the Westward Ho for a month probably had something to do with it as well.

This is my first post.Currently I sit alone in the student center which is quite creepy. The only thing that makes it bearable is the music coming from Pandora which right now is Barry White, Can't get enough of your love, which is making me miss my boyfriend :(. Computer Etiquette

This week we had a virus problem on the front desk computer, which caused the tracking system to be down for an entire day. While we don't know the cause of it, we need to take more cautious measures when working on any computer in the Student Center.

Please be careful with what you download, if we see numerous programs being downloaded that are unnecessary to your responsibilities, we will have the ability to download turned off.

You can still use Facebook, but please do not use or download any applications at work.

Let Christina or I know if you have any questions regarding this matter.

Please reply letting me know you have read this and will comply.

I had the worst night ever last night. I couldn't sleep at all and my head hurt and i couldn't breathe :/

Pretty easy going afternoon, a few people came in and watched TV but other then that it was relatively quiet.

URGENT!!

Amanda asked that when you are closing (a.k.a. the last person for the night) that you please do the following:

-Make sure you shut down the computer
-Make sure that the tv system is closed and shut down properly. But DO NOT hit the system off switch.
-Make sure the remote is put away
-If you made popcorn or even notice that the light for it is on, please turn it off.

Got the chance to fold a few brochures and actually see some people during my shift for a change. Unlike on Sundays people come in on weekdays I guess.

Things have been slow, in fact only one person has come in thus far today. This free time has allowed for a fair amount of homework to be done and a considerable amount of internet surfing. My shift is not over, but I would still venture to say that this has been one of the slowest Sundays ever at the student center.

I had a productive couple of hours today. I folded a few brochures for Amanda and then proceeded to complete an entire section of PHI 103 homework, it did take me the entire two hours though. In all, a good shift.

Today was a good first day back. Got a good chunk of homework done and was able to show some people from the Tempe campus the center, apparently they did not know it existed.
